GivingTuesday.org explains how Giving Tuesday was established:

“GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world.

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.”

It goes without saying that 2020 has been a year unlike any other.

We have all faced challenges that we never saw coming. A day in the life of a police officer is much like this year - every time they don their uniform and sign on for shift, they will face challenges that they do not see coming. They will respond to calls for service not knowing what awaits them, or how that call may affect them for years to come.

These men and women choose to protect and serve our community despite the personal sacrifice and cost to themselves and their families.

This Giving Tuesday, please consider supporting The Haven to help us give back to these officers. Join us in rescuing these officers, restoring relationships, and rebuilding community trust. We cannot do this alone, and we would love for you to come alongside us in this journey.

Happy Thanksgiving

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we can’t overlook our gratitude for those who have protected us throughout this “unprecedented” year.

These brave men and women answer the call to serve their community every day, and they will continue to do so despite the personal cost. While this year our Thanksgiving gatherings may look different, most of us will still manage to gather together - either in person or virtually.

For police officers on duty, however, this Thanksgiving will look the same as any other - a uniform, patrol car, police radio, and calls for service.

Please prayerfully consider supporting The Haven’s ministry to show your gratitude for our brave heroes in blue. They sacrifice time with their families to keep us safe, and it is our mission to provide them a place of respite. If you are unable to contribute financially, we welcome and appreciate your prayers as we move forward.
